Freeland Townes at LoSo consists of both two and three story townhomes on 0.72 acres at the Dewitt Ln and Freeland Ln intersection in Lower South End. The project is a 1/4 mile from the LYNX Blue Line light rail’s Scaleybark Station. Instead of providing typical rear attached garages, the project was able to provide private fenced-in backyards and appropriately scale down building height to the existing Freeland Park single-family neighborhood, while supporting local transit. The project required a conditional rezoning approval by Charlotte City Council, and the land development process started in November 2021. Denciti Partners performed acquisition, site and urban planning entitlement, permitting, and land development with Abernethy Contracting, while Copper Builders performed final building design and vertical development, delivered summer 2024.
